What your Toolkit consists of:
1) Happiness Toolkit to Print

This is in the form of a pdf document & has several different pages that contain various documents & cards that you can use for support & encouragement. The tracking sheets are best printed on plane paper but the other document pages are probably best printed on thick paper or card to make them more portable & robust. It contains:
- a) A Happiness Pledge
- b) A Jumpstart to Joy reminder card
- c) 2 x Jumpstart to Joy tracking sheets. One is for 1 month & is the one to begin with. The second one is for 3 months, which you may feel inspired to continue with after completing the first month. These sheets are valuable because they enable you to keep an ongoing record of your achievement plus they provide you with motivation to continue your “streak” of successes. Put a line through a circle when you have done the morning ritual & then another one when you have done the evening ritual – this will result in rows of crosses that will represent your ongoing practice.
- d) A Character Strengths card – to easily remind yourself about your present qualities & skills.
- e) A Transforming Pessimism card – this is particularly useful to carry with you if you have a tendency to be pessimistic and perceive things and people negatively. The questions on the card can help you to shift that conditioned perspective. This could be great to laminate too.
- f) 2 x sets of Pay It Forwards cards – I have designed a color set & a black & white set so you can print whichever one is easiest for you. These cards can be used whenever you carry out a random act or kindness. Sometimes it can be great just to give the recipient of your kindness the card which explains the nature of “paying it forwards actions. That way they can understand why you have helped them & then be free from any sense of indebtedness or obligation to you. Plus they are more likely to do something lovely for someone else at some point, thus spreading the ripples of joy & kindness.

Clarifying Your Why.mp3 – (9 minutes). This guided visualization is designed to help you find clarity about why you should change by practicing the happier techniques. You will probably only have to do this once & I recommend that you do it before beginning the Jumpstart to Joy practice. If you feel that you are wavering in your commitment to living a more positive life at any point in the future, then you can of course repeat it then.
Short intro to meditation.mp3 – (3 minutes) This is just a brief intro to meditation that you may find helpful if you have never meditated before. It provides a context for you to understand what you are doing and a useful technique that you can apply to any meditation practice.
The 15 Minute Simple Breath Meditation.mp3 This is a very useful introductory meditation that will help you to focus and still your mind
The 30 Minute Simple Breath Meditation.mp3 This is an extended version of the above meditation
The Smile Meditation.mp3 – (5 minutes). This is a simple meditation that will connect you with the uplifting impact on your physiology of smiling.
3) The “My Happiness Journal”

This journal can be an invaluable way to keep you focused & on track with practising & trying out all the exercises that are in the Choosing Happier book. It is also a brilliant gratitude & appreciation journal so it is a great place to keep a record of your Jumpstart to Joy practices too.

YouTube Inspirations
I have created a YouTube channel that has collections of videos to make it easier for you to choose a happier way of being (check out the video below).
There you will find a fun series of videos called the “Happy Monday Tips” which are 2 minute videos that provide you with a new simple exercise for you practice each week. These will allow you to experience the impact of such exercises & to adopt the ones that work for you. These are all quick, easy to do & often fun.
